About Counterpart

Counterpart designs and builds custom software for organizations whose operations don't fit off-the-shelf tools: new systems, replacements for legacy software, production versions of prototypes, and AI that runs on a client's own data. Work is scoped by complexity and priced as a fixed bid, requirements are refined through screen-by-screen design, and the same team maintains systems after launch under a bug-fix warranty.

The company began in 1993 as WDD Software, founded by three engineers from AT&T Bell Labs, and became Counterpart in 2017. It serves manufacturers, education organizations, nonprofits and associations, healthcare and retail. Its team is based in downtown Indianapolis and does not use offshore developers.
