How rankings work

Companies are ranked on the quality of their client reviews (averaged so a few reviews can’t outweigh many), how many reviews they have, how recent those reviews are, how many are verified with the client, how complete their profile is, and how much of their work is in the category.

  1. Review quality

    40%

The average client rating, blended with a neutral starting point until a company has enough reviews, so a handful of five-star reviews can’t outrank a long record of strong ones.

  2. Review volume

    15%

How many clients have reviewed the company. More reviews make the rating more reliable, with diminishing returns after 100.

  3. Recency

    10%

How recently clients reviewed the company. A review’s weight halves every 365 days.

  4. Verified reviews

    15%

The share of reviews confirmed with the client who wrote them.

  5. Profile completeness

    10%

Whether the company has published what buyers need to compare it: services, pricing, team size and offices.

  6. Service focus

    10%

How much of the company’s work is in the category being ranked, so specialists rank above generalists.
